Let’s be honest — buying custom riding boots is a big decision. It takes time and costs far more than off-the-peg options. But when done properly, the results speak for themselves. Comfort, support, fit, longevity — they all come together in a way that mass-produced boots simply cannot match.
At Celeris UK, our reputation was built on made-to-measure. Every custom boot is still crafted from the ground up to your exact measurements — not “semi-custom,” not stock sizes with stretch panels, but truly bespoke.
However, we’ve also recently introduced a small ready-to-wear collection, designed for riders who need something quickly, want a spare pair, or are looking for a more cost-effective option — without compromising on quality. These are made with the same materials and craftsmen as our custom boots, just in standard sizing.
What Does “Custom” Actually Mean?
It’s worth clearing this up, because the word “custom” gets thrown around a lot.
True custom boots are made to your exact leg and foot measurements. We take over 24 measurements — calf width and height, ankle shape, arch support, foot size, and so on. Every boot is built for you, and only you. Custom is not just 3 measurements - usually shoe size, calf and boot height - no, that's semi-custom at most.
Many brands use the word “custom” when what they’re actually offering is a stock boot with a few options — colour, maybe a panel of patent leather, or the ability to choose from a limited size chart. But it’s not the same thing.
Who Should Consider Made-to-Measure?
If standard boots have never fit you quite right — they’re too tight in the calf, too short in the height, too baggy at the ankle — then yes, this route is worth exploring. But it’s not just about body shape.
It’s also for riders who:
-
Spend a lot of time in the saddle
-
Value long-term comfort and foot health
-
Want boots that last, rather than buying new pairs every couple of years
-
Appreciate craftsmanship and detail
-
Simply want boots that feel like part of them
- Or just want something really special
And just to say — because we hear this more than you’d expect — if you’ve ever thought “I’m not good enough for custom boots”, you absolutely are.
Whatever your discipline or level, custom boots can transform your riding. They support your position, improve your balance, and change how you feel in the saddle. We often hear, “Yes, they’re beautiful — but it’s how I feel when I ride in them that changed everything.”
This isn’t about status. It’s about support, function, and confidence. You deserve boots that work for you.
How Long Do Custom Boots Take ?
Our current lead time is 8 to 10 weeks, depending on the model and detailing you choose.
If you need them faster, we also offer an express service — your boots can be made and ready in as little as 2 weeks, for an additional fee. This is ideal if you're preparing for a competition or have a tight deadline.
Either way, the boots are made the same way — same quality, same hands, just a faster production route if needed.
What Do You Actually Get?
With Celeris, you’re getting:
-
A proper made-to-measure tailored service — from start to finish
-
Handcrafted boots made in Portugal using the highest quality materials
-
Honest advice and extensive experience on fit, style, and how to look after them
-
Support if something needs adjusting after delivery (which is rare, but we’re here if it happens)
We offer fittings in the UK, or virtual fittings if you’re further afield. And yes, we talk you through it all — to make the process as easy as possible.
Are They Worth It?
In a word, yes. We endlessly hear "they are worth the wait."
But there’s more to it than good looks and comfort. Custom leather boots, made properly, are also one of the most sustainable choices you can make. Our leathers are a natural by-product of the food industry — not synthetics, not petroleum-based plastic. And because our boots are built to last, they won’t end up in landfill a year or two down the line like so many so-called “vegan” alternatives.
The Final Bit
You won't come to us because you want something average. You come because you want something properly made — and perfect for you. Our boots aren’t mass produced, they’re not off a shelf, they are a work of art.
Your boots will be unique. They’ll fit like a glove — or more accurately, like a corset for your calves. They’ll support you where they should, hold their shape, and feel like an extension of your leg. Not because you picked the right size from a chart, but because we made them to your exact measurements.
But it’s not just about numbers. We take the time to get it right. Every client goes through a full consultation — whether it’s in-person or virtual (possibly multiple times) — where we ask the questions that matter. How you ride, how often, what you care about, what you don’t. We’ll show you what works, and we’ll also tell you what doesn’t. We don’t believe in “just picking a model” and hoping for the best. We really want the right boots for you.
This is about giving you boots that work hard, wear well, and make you feel good the moment you zip them up. You’ll know the difference straight away.
We don’t rush. Every detail counts. These are your boots — and once you’ve ridden in celeris, you won’t want to ride in anything else - something we hear constantly.
